Candle installation

February 2026

For the 5th edition of PlusTable, hosted at Flow, a new waterfront event space along the canal, the company invited French chef Julien Sebbag to create a five-course tasting menu inspired by a maritime atmosphere.

The evening unfolded as an immersive experience shaped by sea tones and coastal influences, in dialogue with the surrounding landscape.

For this edition of Plus Table, Hélène del Marmol designed and produced a site-specific installation composed of elongated wax panels in a range of blue tones. Conceived to illuminate the space, the sculptural pieces evoked drifting waves and shifting horizons. Throughout the evening, the candles were intended to slowly melt live, allowing the work to gradually transform and reveal its materiality in real time.

As the wax softened and evolved, the installation became a living element of the scenography — reinforcing the maritime ambiance and creating a sensory experience where cuisine, light, and matter continuously interacted.
