Mad Parcours

Downtown edition

November 2024

As part of the first edition of MAD Parcours — Downtown Edition, an initiative by MADBrussels celebrating the city’s creative scene, Hélène was invited to present two new works at Zeitgeist Office. The group exhibition brought together Brussels-based designers Helene Del Marmol, Marlies De Clerck, Roxane Lahidji, Slow Studio, Studio Khachatryan, and Thibault Huguet, offering a multifaceted perspective on contemporary design.

For the occasion, the artist unveiled two monumental black "Very Big Candles", continuing her sculptural exploration of wax as a sensual and unstable material. These oversized glossy forms stood in stark contrast to the architectural austerity of the space, evoking both desire and collapse. Suspended between stillness and melting, they served as meditative monuments within the exhibition.

The Zeitgeist Office presentation was selected as one of the Jury’s Choice highlights of the parcours, recognizing its curatorial coherence and the strength of the works on display.
